The Hostess City of the South may be the single most beautiful town in the country.
Wanderlust and accident have taken me all over the world, to discover new history and force my senses into new experiences. I’ve been to China, North Africa, and all over Europe and the US. I love architecture, history, music, and food; traveling offers all of these and the best destinations offer all at once. Holy hand-grenade, did Savannah meet the challenge.
You can’t escape the sheer beauty of the town. The famous Spanish moss framing the lazy streets perfectly complements the centuries old buildings. The wrought-iron banisters, gates, and balconies weave an elegant and historical scene, burnished by random colors and shades thrown from odd-angled buildings.
The Colonial Park Cemetery was entrancing and, while well-kept, the tombs and tombstones were allowed the dignity of their historical scars. Dates and names, obscured by centuries of erosion, nonetheless reveal the pride Savannans take in their local and national…
