Can we trust Trump in North Korea?

I give the President a lot of credit for bringing us to this point. I’m still unsure as to what extent he has a strategy in dealing with North Korea (or anything else actually) but Trump deserves respect for doing what no other president has done: lead an effective international effort to end the Korean War.

The Trump administration successfully lobbied the UN to push for tougher sanctions and their tough, yet uncharacteristically polite, stance with China led that nation to also put some pressure on Kim Jong-Un.

President Trump is getting well-earned accolades for building strong and demonstrably successful relationships with South Korea President Moon and Japanese Prime Minister Abe.

Trump used bluster and braggadocio to threaten and insult while simultaneously recognizing Kim as a peer on the world stage, something neither he nor his father have had. Whether by design or by luck is appears as though Donald Trump, whatever else he may do as president, will leave a foreign policy legacy nearly as consequential as Nixon or Reagan.
